Husbands have a right to know!
Failed 1972 presidential candidate McGovern jumped ship from Hillary Clinton to Barack Obama. That's not my beef - after last night, I can see why he's nervous and would prefer to back a winning horse. But it's how he did it.

The 1972 Democratic presidential nominee said he had a call in to former President Clinton to tell him of the decision, adding that he remains close friends with the Clintons.

The last I heard, it was Hillary Clinton that was running, not Bill. So why is he calling Bill to tell him of his switched loyalties? Because he's her husband? I understand as former president, Bill Clinton probably deserves a personal phonecall, but that should be in addition to, not instead of a call to the candidate he's dissing. Would he putting in a call to Michelle Obama if the roles were reversed?

This reminds me of all the times when I was working and I was dating my then boyfriend (current husband) and instead of coming to me when someone had a problem with me, they went to him (I guess in Indian terms, just dating a man meant I belonged to him?). I chalked it down to the chauvinist Indian male attitude, but apparently it's prevalent across the board.

Such an asshole move. Vile. I'm thinking about writing a letter to the editor in the WP, addressed to his spouse, about what an asshole he is.
